Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. It is a medium format film camera, using 120 film. It is shown here with an Planar 80mm f/2.8 T* Carl Zeiss lens, which is an equivalent perspective to a 35mm film camera’s 50mm lens. This is a manual camera system. For every picture the shutter speed had to be pre-set and the aperture had to be pre-set using their respective rings on the lens. The viewfinder on top of the camera adds a useful center-weighted average metering system, and a comfortable 45 degree viewing angle for the eye. The basics of aperture, shutter speed, center weighted metering made me a better photographer. Shooting manually slows down the photography workflow, allowing time to improve the image before taking the picture, a big advantage.
